Huntington’s Disease Africa (HDA) is organizing a charity run themed “Hope for HD”. Our organization’s mission is to spearhead work on Huntington’s disease in Africa that will result in high quality research, training of professionals and care for affected individuals. The Charity run will take place at Oloolua Nature Trail in Karen on 4th September 2021 and the purpose of this event is to raise awareness about HD and in parallel fundraise for our HD communities’ immediate needs. These needs include:
•Support in getting neurological diagnosis and genetic diagnosis for affected families around Africa.
•Acquiring wheelchairs for families with loved ones who loose mobility.
•Access to professionals to consult on the different needs of the patients e.g., counselling psychologist, neurologist, nutritionist, and speech therapist.
•Hosting HD family events and community outreach.
